Kathleen Grammer, mezzo-soprano, enjoys a diverse career as soloist, recitalist and teacher
throughout the eastern United States and Minnesota. She has appeared in concert on the recital
series of Westminster Conservatory, The Wilmington Music School, Muhlenberg College and
MacPhail Center for the Arts. She has been featured soloist for the annual performances of Messiah
at Heidelberg College, Monmouth Civic Chorus and Princeton Pro Musica. Ms. Grammer appeared
as soloist with Midcoast Symphony, the Bach Fest, North Conway, NH and with VocalEssence. She
was a member of the Ensemble Singers, a 26 voice professional ensemble; Philip Brunelle, artistic
director. The group appears regularly on Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keilor. She
appeared in concert with the Casco Bay Chamber Voices and as alto soloist in Bach’s St. Matthew
Passion.
She has worked with numerous church choirs as section leader and clinician, working with
organists/choir masters to enhance the choirs’ understanding of healthful singing habits. Most
recently, she has presented workshops for ChoralART and the AGO National Convention.
Ms. Grammer holds a Master of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New
Jersey and a Bachelor of Music degree from Heidelberg University, Tiffin, Ohio. She was Lecturer in
Voice at Muhlenberg College, Artist Faculty at Westminster Conservatory of Music and alto soloist
and section leader at St. Thomas’ Church, Whitemarsh, PA, served on the faculty of the University
of Southern Maine and was executive director of Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ, ChoralART.
Currently, she maintains a private voice studio in Scarborough, ME where she teaches singing and
coaches voice and presentation through her LLC, Voice Advantage. She is a member of NATS,
Chorus America, ACE, IFOB and ME ATD.
